Anvil is a heavy metal band from Canada, formed in 1978. The members of the band are Steve “Lips” Kudlow as the vocal and guitar player, Robb Reiner on drums, and Chris Robertson on bass and back vocals. Anvil influenced one of the greatest metal bands of all time including Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth, with their 15 studio albums over the years.

This film will show you the whole process and creation of the band with their problems and achievements through their career. It begins with the Super Rock Festival in Japan in 1984 and its headlining one of the most sold bands of all time the Scorpions, Whitesnake, and Bon Jovi, they all managed to sell millions of records which Anvil failed to achieve. Their whole life they just tried to become of the bigger bands in the metal world, and they managed to make a name for themselves.

This film was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2008 and it received numerous positive critics, even The Times called it “possibly the greatest film yet made about rock and roll”. After the release of this movie, the band received mass popularity giving them the opportunity to attend several festivals and shows.
