This award-winning documentary, originally released in 2010, tells the true story of a medical doctor and PhD biochemist named Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski, founder of the Burzynski Research Institute, a bio-pharmaceutical company that is committed to developing cancer treatments based on genomic and epigenomic principles.
Dr. Burzynski won what has been said to be the most complex legal battle against the Food and Drug Administration ever. The conflicts were centered on the gene-targeted cancer medicines that Dr. Burzynski discovered back in the 1970s. These substances were called Antineoplastons, and have currently completed Phase II FDA-supervised clinical trials. In 2009 Dr. Burzynski was granted permission by the FDA to begin the final phase of testing which consists of randomized controlled clinical trials.
When Antineoplastons are approved, it will mark the first time in history that one single scientist, and not a pharmaceutical company, will hold the exclusive patent and distribution rights on a medical breakthrough of this magnitude.
Antineoplastons are currently responsible for curing some of the most incurable and aggressive forms of cancer, with no toxic side effects. Patients are able to quickly regain normalcy in their lives after the treatment. The film includes many interviews with cancer survivors who deliberately chose these medicines over the traditional menu: surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation. The documentary offers full disclosure of the medical records of those interviewed in order to prove both their diagnosis and their recovery. The film also includes systematic FDA-supervised clinical trial data comparing Antineoplastons to other available treatments.
One outstanding example is a form of cancer, which is known as Diffuse Intrinsic Childhood Brainstem Glioma that has never before been cured in any scientifically controlled clinical trial in the history of medicine. Dr. Buzynski’s Antineoplastons hold the first cure for this.
This documentary takes you through the 14-year journey both Dr. Burzynski and his patients have had to go on, in order to obtain FDA-approved clinical trials of Antineoplastons.
Initially, Burzynski was able to produce and administer his treatment without FDA-approval from 1977-1995 because the state of Texas at this time did not require it. However, this law has since been changed. As with anything that implies a paradigm shift, Burzynski’s ability to successfully treat incurable cancer with such consistency has both baffled and enraged the industry. He has managed infuriate to those who benefit economically from the currently available standard treatments that are outdated and just don’t work. Many medical doctors have called him a ‘quack’ and a ‘charlatan’.
It’s quite interesting to note that all the money that pours into cancer research coming from the walks, the talks, the wristbands, and tax payers pockets go to the same guys: those who make millions of dollars from this disease.
