This feature-length documentary, “This Is What Winning Looks Like,” produced by VICE, is a disturbing look into the sexual misconduct, corruption, drug abuse, and overall incompetence of the Afghan security forces and the overall state of affairs in Afghanistan as US and British troops have begun to withdraw.

In February 2013, on General John R. Allen’s last day leading NATO forces in Afghanistan said, “Afghan forces defending Afghan people and enabling the government of this country to serve its citizens. This is victory, this is what winning looks like, and we should not shrink from using these words.”

US and British forces are officially scheduled to leave Afghanistan by the end of 2014 and this documentary gives a bleak look into the mess that is going to be left behind, a sharp contrast from the victory that the media and politicians involved would like you and the world to believe.

Journalist Ben Anderson has been covering the war in Afghanistan for 6 years now and this brilliant documentary is the end result of what he has seen.
